A liminal space is an in-between space. It doesn't exist all the time and it doesn't exist for very long.

Why is an artist considered liminal or an outlaw?

Is it because they show us what is unconscious within our society? Do they remind us of something of value that we have forgotten? Do they live in a liminal space to help us transcend what is conventional?
